Product Description The Toontrack EZXpansion-Twisted Kit for the EZdrummer sampler is what you're looking for when you want to march to a different drummer. EZXpansion-Twisted features the skills of Michael Blair, the drum and percussion genius behind Tom Waits "Rain Dogs" and "Franks Wild Years" albums, as well Elvis Costello's "Spike" and Lou Reed's "Magic and Loss," among others. Throwing traditional kits and percussive style out the window, Blair is a one-of-a-kind rhythm magician. This collection features off-the-beaten path type sounds mixed in with some quality, more orthodox hits. In other words, you can mix the crisp sound of a Gretsch 1987 maple kick drum with the plink of a hubcap or drawer turned into snares. If you're sonically adventurous, EZXpanion will give you a trip you're going to enjoy taking.

| Customer Reviews:
Excellent for what it is January 28, 2008 The question you need to ask yourself before purchasing this product is "how bad do I want to purchase a $79 collection of sound effects made from stuff I can find in a junkyard?"
Let's face it. The majority of the "drums" in this collection are derived from items you can find in the trash. Carboard boxes. Trash can lids. Bundt cake pans. Sauce pots. But for what it is, it's definitely something to try out if you're looking for more experimental drum sounds with a MUCH harsher edge. Consider this a convenient collection of sound effects you'd hear in a Tom Waits or Einstuerzende Neubauten record that you don't have to risk going deaf to create yourself. The sounds you get here can indeed come in handy, but only on an occasional basis if you're on the more mainstream end of the music spectrum. If you're looking for a more aggressive percussion sound that you can't find in the other EZX expansions, this should help greatly.
