Product Description Illus. in full color. "With a jovial bus driver as host, readers have quite
a ride ahead of them as the bus bounces through what appears to be a French
town. In her first book the artist humorously injects the familiar song with
cheerful new life."--Horn Book.

Excellent book to get and KEEP a toddler's interest October 30, 2008 We got this book for our son; originally, from the local library... we had to get it out several times, as it quickly became his favorite. Eventually, we bought it to add to our collection.
The book brings the simple interactive song, The Wheels on the Bus" to life as each verse is wonderfully illustrated with artwork that captures a child's attention and provides LOTS of visual stimulation and teaching points. Vibrant colors, interesting people and actions make the beautifully simple song something you can sit down with your child and read over and over, pointing out new things...
We read the book, sing with the book, make the hand movements/gestures, go into detail about the vignettes presented in the back-story, use our imagination, object, action and color recognition, it's a great way to connect educationally and in a simple, entertaining way.
This book is up there with "Green Eggs and Ham" "You Are Special" "Guess How Much I Love You" and "Go Dog Go" as a key component of any young child's library.
Your decision should not be "if" I get this book for a child, but whether you get the board book, paper book, or both!
2 year old sings along August 29, 2008 My 2 year old daughter loves this book. Nice illustrations and very simple. My daughter picks up the book and sings it herself. Great for boys or girls!
Songs to read books. October 19, 2007 My sister is a principal and highly recommeded this book for my grandchildren. THey love to read and sing so what better gift than to have it all wrapped into one.
The Pages of This Book go Flip and Turn September 8, 2006 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Timing is everything to read this book, which is really a song. Although the notes are at the end to hint how the words should be read, without hearing it sung first and reading it out loud in a dull monotonous fashion a toddler may look at the reader as if to ask "Why bother?" Then I heard it on one of the CDs and now the words flow beautifully and make me read and read, read and read, all through the night.
A great book with many things to talk about July 21, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this when my daughter was 13 months, and after 7 months she still loves this book. There are different people in the bus - adults, kids, elderly, pets, etc., and many things happening on and off the bus.
When my daughter refuses to drink her milk, I'll turn to the page where the baby is happily drinking from the bottle, then she will take her cup and start drinking.
Try Raffi's CD as well. He sang the song to a cheerful tones with kids in the background - my daughter loves it.
