4 out of 5 stars Great starter book   October 19, 2008
My teacher used this book when I took theory 1 in high school. I like how its really straightforward and very specific. I bought it because I'm having trouble with theory in college and I thought it'd be a good study helper. Not so much. It's the perfect book for people with no theory background, though!!!

5 out of 5 stars Theory book   October 9, 2008
I love this book. I've always had a very hard time learning theory, counting, rhythm, etc. but not anymore. My music teacher introduced this to me and we work on it together. I find it's perfect for me. It takes me step by step and now I'm getting a pretty clear understanding of music all around. Thank you Ms. Feldstein!

4 out of 5 stars Good for beginners   October 3, 2008
I bought this for a beginning music theory class. I already knew most of what's in the book but I can see where it would be a very good all around workbook to get you up to speed with music theory if you have little to no prior knowledge.

5 out of 5 stars Greatest theory book   August 15, 2008
I ordered this book at the suggestion on my guitar teacher. I've been using it to prepare for a college audition. I've gotten to the level of theory knowledge in two months that my girlfriend is at after 3 years.

5 out of 5 stars A course for the beginner student   May 15, 2008
This is a great study of music for the beginner and for those wanting to refresh their music understanding. It starts with the most basic leveal of music and takes you to being able to compseing your own music. As a student of music, it has given me a good foundation for understanding how and why music is written as well as being able to read it and compse new songs. A great tool for music lovers.
