POOR CONSTRUCTION June 2, 2008 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I wanted a basic metronome at a reasonable price, BUT NOT JUNK. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. Screws from inside this thing fell out and there is NO WAY TO OPEN THE FRONT COVER. Up-grade to another metronome.
Decent quality, but could be better designed April 17, 2008 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
Let me start by saying that this item is made of PLASTIC. There is some metal within the internal components and some weak metal on the pendulum. Otherwise the rest is all plastic. Had I realized that this was made of plastic I would not have bought it. I had a lot of trouble getting my item from the seller and would have been better off getting something else.
As for the quality of the metronome. It is fair. I do have to warn you. The instructions are next to none. They are basically a single 4x6 piece of folded paper. There are also no instructions on how to open the device either. It took me nearly an hour to figure out how to open it. I was intentionally being careful because I did not want to break it after waiting almost a month to get it. There are feet on the bottom of the faceplate that hook inside. There is a small latch on the top of the face that holds it in place. This can get sticky and tight. So if you are going to need to pull on it, pull from the top to open it.
As for timing, it performs the job. It is pretty loud and the bell is a little annoying, but works for the purpose. When you wind it, you twist the handle in a clockwise direction. The instructions state in the direction of the arrow, but there is no arrow on the instructions or on the metronome.
The selection for the bell is a pull out mechanism. I believe the settings for it are 0, 2, 3, 4, and 6.
I will be interested to see how long it lasts. It is very light weight, due to the plastic construction.
If I was asked if I would suggest this item I would have to say no. I am disappointed in the over all quality of the device, and with the ordering process. There was little help from Amazon either. If you want a cheap metronome, that may not last long, and your ordering process could be a little uncertain, than this is for you. Otherwise I would suggest to spend a little extra and get something better.
great product January 24, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Great product, great price. It helped my 4yr old play so much better. Also, it's nice and loud, light weight. The best thing, it never needs batteries. Just wind and go.
