The DT-4 is a unique style of chromatic tuner in which LEDs around its circumference indicate how close the input pitch is to the note name displayed in the center. In spite of its compact size (fits in the palm of your hand), the illuminated circumference and large note name display provide excellent visibility, allowing high-precision tuning over a range of A0 (27.50 Hz)--C8 (4186.01 Hz). The adjustable calibration lets you specify the reference pitch in a range of 410 Hz--480 Hz (1 Hz steps).

Product Description
The DT-4 has a unique circular pitch indicator that lights up to let you know when you're in tune. With the DT-4's large LED readout, you can tell right away the note name of the pitch you're tuning. The DT-4 also uses red tuning guides to help you hit your pitch. This instantaneously visible readout is housed in a compact, cool-looking design that can go anywhere. The DT-4 is designed to avoid unnecessary battery consumption. If approximately ten minutes have elapsed with no audio input while powered-on, the power will automatically turn off. 4 out of 5 stars More real estate on my pedalboard.....   July 17, 2008
I bought this tuner for two reasons. One, it has a accuracy of better than +/- 1 cent. Two, it has a really small footprint, yet it is bright and easy to see on dark stages. The tuner seemed a bit sensitive at first, but after tuning up a few times, it became quick and easy. It locks right in on the note once you're used to the sensitivity. I took one star off because I would have liked it to have a DC power input in addition to the AAA battery power (so I could leave it on all the time), and, the tuner is made entirely of plastic. However, it is so small, that I am able to place it on a reasonably well protected place on my board. The battery is lasting well, and the tuner turns itself off after 10 minutes if it doesn't sense any input. I have a separate tuner/mute loop, so, if I don't get back to tuning for 10 minutes, the tuner just switches itself off. The only small inconvenience is that I have to bend over and push the "on" button when I go back to tune. Given the tuner's size, decent accuracy, and price, its a small adjustment for me. I love the Peterson tuner for its quality and accuracy, no doubt. But if you don't want to shell out 200 bucks for a tuner and you really want to make some more space on your board, this is a great option.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent, innovative little tuner   February 25, 2008
First of all, it actually works. It accurately identifies the pitch of my various instruments. Not being the trusting sort -- and not being possessed of perfect pitch -- I checked using prerecorded reference tones. The LED display in the center has sharp/flat indicators. The LEDs around the edge speed up the tuning process, or at least give that impression. The display is very bright, looks very impressive in the dark.
