Oh, The Thinks you can Think! June 12, 2008 An excellent vocal/piano selection book for this energetic and wonderful musical! The songs are all playable, but some are more difficult than others. Though some are easily sight-readable.
One note I would like to make is that both Amazon.com and other reviewers have listen "Havin' a Hunch" as a song in the list, that is not the case with my book. My book, which has a 2001 print year, contains "Green Eggs & Ham" which is the ending bow music. So, just for clarification, as of 2001 printings, "Havin' a Hunch" does not appear to be included which was slightly disappointing - but a minor problem overall.
The song list (as it appears in my book is)
Oh, the Thinks you can Think Horton Hears a Who Biggest Blame Fool A Day for the Cat in the Hat It's Possible (McElligot's Pool) The Military Alone in the Universe Amayzing Mayzie How Lucky You Are Notice Me, Horton Solla Sollew All for You Green Eggs and Ham
"Oh the Thinks you can Think" is an abbreviated version of the original, which contains the main chorus, and the book includes all the chorus.
"Horton Hears a Who" is presented in it's entirety with both Horton & the Bird Girls parts and harmonies.
"Biggest Blame Fool" has been arranged and cut into a big belting number for the Sour Kangaroo with back up from Chorus members.
"A Day for the Cat in the Hat" is presented here almost in it's entirety, but appears to be lacking the dance break
"It's Possible" contains the McElligot's Pool section in it's entirety with harmonies, but minus the dance break
"The Military" appears to be presented in it's entirety.
"Alone in the Universe" is presented here in it's entirety but minus the underscore section in the middle for the dialogue between Jojo & Horton.
"Amayzing Mayzie" is presented in it's entirety, with all parts for Mayzie, Gertrude, & the bird girls
"How Lucky You Are" is the Cat in the Hat's version of the song and is presented in it's entirety
"Notice Me, Horton" is presented in it's entirety.
"Solla Sollew" is presented in it's entirety, but the various solo lines have been combined into one solo line with alternate lyrics. Though the chorus part with all harmonies is still presented.
"All For You" is presented in it's entirety.
"Green Eggs & Ham" Is all here too!
The book contains two pages of pictures of the production, though I would have enjoyed more pictures since there are only a few. But I greatly enjoy this book! It's a great buy!

WOW! I was in this play once! I played Jojo, i've been looking for this music for forever, i love this book!
A performer's review May 10, 2007 I performed in this musical as a wickersham brother, so i know how many songs were in this show and how many songs were included in the songbook, and only about 48% of the songs from the play are in this book! Some of my favorite ones aren't even in there! However, it does have some of the songs I like, like "Oh the thinks you can think!".

This is a wonderful musical, with lots of very fun and catchy music. I own this piano book, but am a little disappointed that more songs were not included. Seussical has SO many songs, and there are only 13 in this book. Many other piano books for musicals include ALL the songs in the show, so this is a bit of a disappointment.
Its like having the show for you own. November 5, 2006 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
My 5 year old son and I saw this show over the summer and we gave him this soundtrack for his birthday in October. He loves listening to it and remembering what he saw on stage, as do I. And he loves expalining the details to his older brother who did not see the show, but loves the music equally as much. A lively soundtrack that I don't tire of listing too in the car. We all love it.
