5 out of 5 stars Proven methodology that we are sold on   November 2, 2008

We've used Rosetta Stone's products for several different language studies. Their methodology works. It's odd because as you complete your first lesson or two you find yourself thinking this can't teach me this language but before you know it you're gaining proficiency. Make no mistake, there is no substitute for time and effort and learning any foreign language requires committment. But, if you're willing to put in the consistent time and effort you will/can/should learn with this product.

5 out of 5 stars I love this program - Husband learned in 10 minutes   October 29, 2008

I purchased Rosetta Stone @ the website. The 6 month online subscription. I did so because I didn't want the CD's just lying around the house. If I only have 6 months - I better get at it.
I am a teacher myself and from that perspective, I absolutely love it. It's fun, and the teach style makes "sense".
Now, I have taken Spanish 101 and listened to a Berlitz Rush Hour Spanish so I didn't know if that helped or hindered in my progress.
So I gave it to my hubby who has only "Sesame Street" Spanish - if you get my drift. He was able to pick up at least 20 sentences - speak, listen and respond within 10 minutes. A few days later I quizzed him and he still remembered. He could care less about learning Spanish. He was just being my guinea pig.
So I know that it does work. It may not be everything you need to really know the language but it's an interesting twist from the boring repetitive classes at schools.

Rosetta Stone Version 3: Spanish (Latin America) Level 1, 2 & 3 Set with Audio Companion

I have tried the Rosetta Stone now for over a month. I do know a few phrases. It is easy to follow. Little disappointed in the program not sharing the english version of anything said. Also, the headset that comes with the product either works too well or not well enough. The voice recognition part of it I feel doesn't work as well as it should.

I feel this product does however do what it seeks to do: immerse you in the language to learn it. This is ok for speaking, not writing. Its hard to learn placement and spelling of verbs, adjectives, and nouns without an explaination.

The audio companion is not worth $50, so if you can find it cheaper- do so!

I have now had the Spanish program for a few months now and I must say that my Spanish has improved. The lessons are put together well and they seemed to walk me through nicely. I did not feel the pressure of trying to learn Spanish as if I was in a classroom. Being able to set my own pace was nice. To be fair, I had taken 4 years of Spanish 20+ years ago in high school. So much of that knowledge came back to me as I was going through these lesson.

I would definitely reccomend this program to anyone who wants to put the time in to learn Spanish well. This is not a quick solution, but if you are patient and stick with the program it will pay off immensely.
