Big Goof!! January 27, 2007 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I should have read the reviews before I ordered this interface and it may have saved me many hours of time trying to get it to work. I have a Yamaha PSR keyboard and this interface does not work on it. I suppose if you had a different keyboard that it worked on it would be fine.
Midisport Uno MIDI interface January 14, 2007 I used the Midisport Uno MIDI interface to connect a Concertmate 990 (aka Casio CTK-601) keyboard to a computer running XP and NoteworthyComposer. The arrangement is not entirely satisfactory but the problem is in the software, not the Midisport Uno.
Installation of the Midisport Uno is simple and straightforward. However, the auto-install CD directed me to connect the USB at start of installation. It appears to me that the connection should in fact be made after installation is complete. This flaw (at least I think it is a flaw) is why I gave less than five stars.
Works as advertised January 10, 2007 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is an inexpensive USB-MIDI audio interface. It does the job! M-Audio is a sign of Quality.
Incompatible with Yamaha PSR-530 January 6, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It's not completely unusable, but every 100 notes or so it suddenly lights up the entire MIDI stream with random notes in all Octaves. I was playing a choir and the sudden devil shouts and screeching almost gave me a heart attack. I guess this is a common problem. M-Audio makes a real nice 49-key USB controller that's only $99... I'd buy that instead unless you have a real nice keyboard, but do a Google search to make sure it's compatible first.
Needs updated drivers January 6, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased the Midisport Uno to connect my DTXPress III electronic drums to my computer. Installation was complicated, with the drivers not really working with Windows XP. I had to look for an updated driver on the Internet to get this thing to work.
If you're looking to do some real-time recording with this, make sure that you at least have a sound board in your computer and not just the integrated audio. Check to see if it supports ASIO, so that there is no lag. I tried to record some tracks using this and just the integrated audio on my computer and the notes either lagged by about 3 seconds or did not play at all.
I have since purchased a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum and connect my drums with plain MIDI cables to my computer. I'll probably get a keyboard somewhere down the road and I'll hook it up with the Midisport Uno so I won't have to keep switching back and forth between the drums and the keyboard.
