This is a amazing piece of software. If you have the right hardware, this software will do whatever you need it to do.
So far so good. December 21, 2006 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
I've had this program for about a day now so take this review with a grain of salt. When I first got it I had some problems figuring out what's what. It seems you have to drag and drop the loop Library from the DVD to your hard disk. It doesn't get installed when you do the installation. I ended up calling support and they did a pretty good job straighten me out although they did admit the documentation was lacking in this area. Once I got the program running I was in shock! I had never used any loop based music creation software before. I have only used cubase and had not even used it that much. However compared to cubase this program is a lot easier to get started on. I was literately making music in 5 minutes. Ok it's somewhat cheating because you are just putting together samples but still It's very encouraging because it's so easy. I haven't tried the midi or recording part yet so I'll have to comeback and update this when I do. It's just a breath of fresh air to be able to do something so fast like this. Any idiot can make something that sounds reasonably good.
First Edit: Ok it's been a couple more days. I've converted my old Cubase midi projects to Acid pro. It was pretty easy; just had to write them out as midi in Cubase and read them back in in ACID pro. ACID pro seems to work OK with my old set of VST instruments. The midi editor is easy to use, just draw the notes in. It has a piano keyboard on the left if you want to hear them first.
