I just ordered this product and am using it to connect my keyboard to an HP Pavillion laptop with Windows Vista. While the software didn't install, it is a plug and play device and it worked like a charm with Finale 2008.
As others have said - it either works or it doesn't, and so far so good.

This product seems to work as advertised. Connected it up to my XP Laptop, and it was able to connect to my Piano. Very little to say about this item since it just does what I wanted it to do and it is one of those things that either works or does not.
Happy with it.
simple interface December 21, 2007
This interface is great if only one midi controller is needed. Drivers were easy to install and unit works great.

May be its just me ... on few occasions I tried to use with XP, I would get random freezes. I gave up on using it since
Works well with Yamaha YDP213 December 12, 2007
It's wonderful when equipment works the way they are suppose to, and this definitely works with the Yamaha YDP213 piano. Minimal effort to install the driver, plugged the adapter in, and WinXP and sequencer software recognized it immediately. By the way, this is listed as the Xmidi 1x1 on E-mu's web site.
