Absolutely one of my favorite shows. The lyrics and orchestrations are spectacular. If you are doubting Sondheim's genius, this musical will clear things up. Company is truly a model for musical theater. It has great ballads, wonderful company numbers, and everything in between. The music acts as its own unique characters as well. The opening chords are the dial tones! GENIUS! If you are new or old to musical theater this is a must have. There are MANY recordings, but I only own this one, the original. While this recording isn't the highest quality recording and there are some harmonic issues vocally, I would still say get this recording. It is truly fabulous. There are so many good songs which is my favorite?! Favorite song: "Sorry-Grateful"

Company is a terrific musical, and the original cast is excellent. The arrangement may sound dated in a couple of places, but mostly it holds up amazingly well.

I have to say that I am addicted to this CD!! It is a monumental achievement! Sondheim can do no wrong in my eyes! BUY IT, BUY IT, BUY IT!!!!

Mr. Sondheims first composition as well as lyrics of a broadway play and I just saw a univerity revival; A great play with some wonderful music. the CD is top drawer. Pannybaker has a documentary about the making of the albumn and it is alo available. Highly recommended.

COMPANY may have originally been introduced before its time back in the 70's but now we can see how timely and insightful and "right on" the book and lyrics really were and actually NOT ahead of there time at all.
Just gutsy enough to say it like it is/was at the time people didn't want to talk about such issues!
Of course Sondheim wrote this music so early in his career and yet it holds up so well today. Outstanding....Just "listen to the words" as one might say. An enjoyable task with the beautiful music and vocals on this outstanding CD
