5 out of 5 stars This Book Has Changed My Life, Very Much for the Better!   December 5, 2007

This is one of the most inspiring, fun books I have read in a while. Well, the book is definitely well-written and entertaining--very much so! But the key is the method they explain how to do! The Immersion Music Method! It is so much fun. I did it myself a few months back, and had a blast; I couldn't even wait to get my mates involved before I started. But the other day, I got some of them involved too, and we had a BLAST! For the first time in my life, I feel like I know how to tap the muse! Without struggle, and with having so much fun. The book is so good-spirited, and so full of useful advice. Absolutely, if you are a frustrated songwriter, buy this book!

3 out of 5 stars Still Frustrated   October 19, 2007

I really enjoyed the first chapters of the book which encourage me to write songs for my own enjoyment rather than for the next hit song.
But second half of the book delved more into songwriters guilds and all day songwriting sessions which i cannot do since i work six days a week, leaving me unable to progess.
I would recommend this book for fulltime songwriters but for folks like me, we need a quick fix.

3 out of 5 stars good, but unexpected   October 10, 2007

the book was good, and i think useful, but not what i was expecting. the entire book is a giant rave about the writers lodge idea, which i had already heard of in another book. i think some people will be annoyed at the lack of warning, it should say on the cover something about writers lodges or something.
but i personally think the lodges are a good idea and i will try to start my own in the near future.

5 out of 5 stars This book can help   May 26, 2007

If you've wanted to write songs but have been frustrated despite years of theory lesson, thousands of songs you've transcribed and sing, and dozens of 'how to write a hit song' books, this is the book for you.

The book has specific techniques for freeing your muse and getting songs written. This is the best book I've read for overcoming writer's block or wondering what to write about.

5 out of 5 stars Even if you're not frustrated...   May 24, 2007

Every person who wants to write songs should read this book even if you're not frustrated. Good for anybody at any skill level who's ever had writer's block. (Which means everybody!) It is absolutely amazing! If you take the time to do what the book suggests (it's fun I promise), you will amaze yourself! It's a quick read but the ideas are great.
